St John Lutheran Church – Redwood Falls

St. John Lutheran Church works diligently to keep the teens in the congregation actively involved. This is accomplished in a variety of ways.

First, St. John encourages the teens of the congregation to participate in weekly Bible studies that are provided to the teens on Sunday mornings from 9:15-10:15am. This allows them to enjoy Christian fellowship with their peers and also talk about topics that pertain to their age and situations in life. The Sunday morning Bible study is just a continuation of the Sunday School classes they were offered throughout their grade school years at St. John Lutheran Church.

Second, St. John wants the teens to stay connected to their fellow teen church members. This is done by the teen leaders, pastors, and parents arranging for events for the teens. Events that are being planned for 2011 include: skiing, camping, Wisconsin Dells, Mall of America, Valleyfair Amusement Park, paint ball, movie nights, and much more.

Third, St. John encourages the teens to be active in the church. This is done by having the teens serve for Lenten and Advent Soup Suppers, teach Sunday School for the younger children, conduct bake sales, be ushers for the church services, and help where needed throughout the congregation.  When a teen is active in the church during their high school years, it is our hope and prayer that they will stay connected to the church and their Savior Jesus throughout their life.

Finally, St. John believes that the teenage and college years for children can be very difficult and even overwhelming at times. St. John wants to offer as many ways for these children to stay connected to Jesus until the time comes for them to have their own families as grownups. It is our hope that we have provided the essential tools in their faith life to instruct the next generation.
